Slope stabilization with system

First LDA 91 drilling attachment successfully deployed in Australia

Severe storms and cyclones are part of everyday life on Australia's east coast – as are the challenges they bring. Following a particularly severe cyclone in the Coffs Harbour region, the road network was washed out. Rapid restoration of the infrastructure was a top priority. A sustainable stabilization concept was implemented in collaboration with PAN CIVIL: soil nails combined with a shotcrete wall permanently stabilize the terrain beneath the road.

LDA 91 masters the most adverse conditions

The newly delivered LDA 91 drilling attachment from Lumesa was used for the drilling work – mounted on a VOLVO ECR145 with a modified, extra-large oil cooler for the sometimes extreme temperatures on site. The 7-meter-deep, 100-mm-diameter bores were drilled using the down-the-hole (DTH) method. The LDA 91 impressed with its low weight, high performance, and precise control via radio remote control.

Flexible and efficient thanks to slew drives

Another advantage: Two 360° slew drives allow for maximum flexibility during drilling. The collaboration with PAN CIVIL impressively demonstrates how customized technology from Lumesa contributes to stability and safety worldwide.
